MICROSOFT CORP, the software giant announced on Saturday (December 19) that its innovative security patches to fix a critical vulnerability in the Internet Explorer browser has been launched.

 

The flaw, known as the ’zero day’, assists the hackers to infringe the victims’ computers by steering these to infected website, thereby accessing to online banking passwords and e-shopping log on details. This is also considered as one of the punishable cyber crimes.

 

Already two million Windows users have been affected by this flaw. Nearly 10,000 websites have also been infected seriously

 

The concerned officials of the Microsoft confirmed that the new update would close the entire loophole. The users of the Windows Vista can handle the updates through the control panel. If the user wants to execute the update manually, then it has to be downloaded from the Microsoft Update.

 

The process is very user friendly in nature. After the computer has been scanned to see, which updates it needs, the user should click on the ’Custom’ button to find and choose the update that needs to be installed. Microsoft recommends the users to install all high-priority security and critical updates immediately.

 

When the computer is connected to the Internet and switched to power mode, the latest security updates are automatically downloaded and installed.
