2006-Mar-10 - Vacation Testing |
Back from a week testing out the Florida sun and I am pleased to report that the sun passed with flying colours.
However I did get distracted twice with testing observations...
One was at the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, all the machines there also had a Bingo game facility that played at the same time as you played the normal game. I didn't understand what was happening so used the Help option but that made things worse - it referred to a Cancel button that didn't exist anywhere and it also explained that there would be a three second countdown that would be highlighted below another button - this didn't appear anywhere either. Seems that someone didn't test that the user help matched the actual machines
Flying back to the UK on a redeye I was trying to sleep but wasn't helped by the fact that the control for the in-flight TV was built into the armrest so if I put my arm on the armrest to support my head for some sleep then I would end up either changing the audio channel from rock to classical or I would switch the TV on and the bright light would wake me up. Was any usability testing done on this - works fine when you are awake and wanting to use the in-flight entertainment but a pain in the *ss if you want to sleep
