April 1, 2007 - A New Tool in My Tester's Tool Box - ScreenRip32

Posted in Tools

Because sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words (and who has time to write a thousand words?), almost all testers need a good screen capture utility.

There are many good ones available, but the one I like best is ScreenRip32 from Progency Software.

From their web site:

  • This program is a freeware screen capture utility that lets you capture areas of the screen with a variety of methods
  • Win95/98/NT/XP compatible
  • Supports different image formats such as ICO, BMP, JPG, and GIF support (animated or standard)
  • View and/or create animated GIF's with many options
  • Convert or capture images as different color depths
  • Hot key configuration
  • Capture mouse cursor
  • Insert cursor images... and much more!

Check it out at http://www.progency.com/other.html#screenrip32

Know of any handy tools (particularly free tools... I like free)?
