March 25, 2007 - Lazy Spambots?
Are Spambots getting lazy, or just stupid?
My email spam filter is pretty good.
Still, every once in a while I check my Spam folder, just to be sure that the filter isn't being overly aggressive.
Lately, I've been seeing a lot of "From:" names that sure don't look like anyone I'd talk to.
Now I know they are probably trying hard to defeat the spam filters (at least in my case, ineffectively). But seriously, do these names seem like real people to you? Would you be tempted to open an email from one of these "people"?

And the "Subject:" fields for these spams tend to be rather humorous as well. They certainly don't make me want to open the email:
