September 14, 2006 - A New Tool In My Tester's Tool Box - SmartReplace

In my never-ending quest for cheap, simple, small tools, I've started using SmartReplace, a free search-and-replace utility from Deep Perspective.

According to their web site:

"Free tool to search and replace text and file’s names at once in one simple action
The tool will replace any appearance of a string: inside a file or in the file's name. It can be runs on sub directories also.

This tool was originally developed for changing an entire development project at once.

To install the tool just copy the executable file and open it. "

It's got a nice clean UI, and seems to do the job well.
