March 18, 2006 - Images of Quality
A while back I was trying to get an idea for a graphic to be used in a presentation which would represent "Quality". Something that would convey confidence that things were under control.
I used Google Images to do a few searches until I found some good ideas, then created what I needed.
Recently, I decided to revisit Google Images and see what it could turn up in some searches. Now you have to understand. When I use Google Images, I think of Forrest Gump - "It's like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're gonna get".
Here are a few that caught my eye when I searched for the term "Quality":
From the Web Quality home page at w3schools.
I guess this conveys quality. That guy does look rather trustworthy, but I think the capital Q really sells it...
From a German company named Total E-Quality.
"TOTAL E-QUALITY Deutschland eV. has set itself the target to establish and to anchor sustainable equal opportunities of women and men in busisness, science, politics and administration and to, by achieving this target, effectuate a change of the paradigm in the personnel policy."
Another good use of the letter Q. Although the staircase says more to me about diving into a pool of equality, or stars, or something...

I have to admit this one really freaks me out. To me, it seems less about quality, than about metrics - we're watching you...

This one's got it all - the letter Q, the wire cage in the background. They even include the company name and location! If I ever purchase a bird or other small animal that needs to be caged, I'm sold...
