September 30, 2007 - I'm Certified!

Posted in Work in General

Recently I attended a Pragmatic Marketingฎ Practical Product Managementฎ seminar.

This was a private seminar designed to help our company get better at Product Management and Requirements development.  We sent folks from Engineering, Product Management, and Product Marketing.

At the end of the session was the typical 40-question, multiple-choice test.

(Why always 40 questions?  Why not 25 or 100?  Is 40 some sort of boundary condition?)

Everyone who correctly answered at least 70% of the questions attained this handsome certification. According to the training company, I am now "eligible to use the Pragmatic Marketing Certified logo".  Since I couldn't think of any other way to use it, I figured I'd post it here for all to see and admire!

Seriously though, it was a pretty good course, with a good instructor who was both funny and engaging.  It appears to be fairly common in the Product Management world.

While it was a little long on anecdotes, and a little short of the details of Requirements creation, I think it's worth attending if you get a chance.
