What / Why Jake Brake?Having been asked numerous times about my handle, I think it time to provide background. Many years ago long before IT became known as IT, long before it was riddled with silver bullets, I was an impressionable youngster living on a small farm about half a mile outside of a small town in southwest Minnesota. At night I would lie in bed after taunting my two older sisters and listen to the sounds of 18-wheel tractor-trailer rigs slowing down to enter town. Most drivers would slow the rigs using "jake braking". I found the sound soothing. (I thought I was going into this 2-page soliloquy). Not! More about jake braking can be found at Wikipedia.
